Cheetos Mighty Zingers in Sharp Cheddar & Salsa Picante is a new Cheetos product. The first thing I noticed was the packaging. The bag is metallic silver and orange and very eye catching. In the corner there is a notch that says "Tear Here". Well, me being stubborn and wanting to eat my snack the way I always do, I opened the bag at the top, the way I normally do. I have to say, that was a mistake.
When I opened the bag, I noticed two different colored Cheeto snacks. A orange and red colored and they were also smaller Cheeto pieces. Not the regular longer pieces that I am use to. Hence the "Tear Here" on the bag.
Now, I personally do not like the smaller pieces. I found it hard to get more than two or three pieces into my hand without having to dump them out. And with the wonderful classic "Cheeto stained fingers", that I was trying to avoid I did not want them all over my hands.
I did enjoy the flavor. And the classic "Cheeto crunch" was present in these snacks. The orange were sharp cheddar and had a great flavor that I did enjoy. They surprisingly tasted like sharp cheddar and had that great bite that I enjoy in the cheese. The red were salsa picante and although I did not think they tasted like salsa or picante sauce, I did like that they had a nice spice to them. I little bit of a kick, but not hot at all. The flavors combined were fantastic. Having the sharpness of the cheddar and the kick of the picante really complimented each other and made this snack a pleasant addition to the Cheetos family.
Overall, I liked the Cheetos Mighty Zingers Sharp Cheddar & Salsa Picante snacks. I was pleased by the flavor and crunch of the snacks. I didn't like the size of the pieces. I thought they were too small to handle if eating out the bag. If poured into a bowl, they may have been more manageable.
